I work as a Clinical Nurse in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit and became involved with the Preston James Fund whilst carrying out research on children in the intensive care unit. I was able to see first hand how the funds raised by the Preston James Fund directly benefitted the sick children. Bed side care of critically ill children improved as a result of the research, and more recently much needed life saving equipment has been purchased by the fund. I volunteer for the fund and act as the link between the hospital and the fund which I love to do. Families often ask how they can help as they would like to say thank you for the care their child has received. It is fantastic to know that the Preston James Fund is one way in which they can help other children by sharing their story or raising much needed funds. Being a part of the Preston James Fund is truly an honour.
