Grant Hackett, one of history's greatest ever athletes, has lent his support to raise awareness of children’s respiratory research through the Preston James Research Fund.

In his first public appearance as Ambassador of the PJ Fund, Grant toured the Mater Children’s Hospital Paediatric Intensive Care Unit with his girlfriend, successful Melbourne singer/songwriter, Candice Alley.

Grant’s interest in respiratory research stems from his own respiratory illnesses.  In 2004 in Athens, at his second Olympics, Grant overcame serious respiratory illness to defend his Olympic 1500m crown, winning the gold medal.

The PJ Fund thanks Grant, a true champion and humanitarian, and looks forward to his continued involvement in helping to bring life-saving respiratory research to children.
